Adult - Sewing Basics: Simple Techniques and Projects for First-Time Sewers

If you've never threaded a needle or touched a sewing machine before, learning to sew may seem daunting...but it doesn't have to be!

Trish will provide all the supplies and materials needed to help ease you into a creative new hobby using Choly Knight's friendly and easy-to-follow book and projects.  No need to bring anything except yourself and an attitude ready for fun and new skills.

Class meets for 6 weeks.

First week: Introduction to the Sewing Tools, Fabric and Sewing Machine

Second Week: Practice Sewing, What is a Seam Allowance, Trouble Shooting, Following a pattern, Cutting fabric, Hand-sewing Ladder Stitch
Project:  Begin the Bellflower Pincushion

Third Week: Finish Bellflower Pincushion, Applique, working with stablizers
Project:  Sweetly Scented Sachet

Fourth Week: Finish Sweetly Scented Sachet

Fifth Week: Sewing Curve, Applique Practice, Ladder Stitch, 
Projects: Marvelous Mr. Cat

Sixth Week: Finish Marvelous Mr. Cat.

All students must have a waiver signed and on file before class begins.

I understand that doors open 10 minutes before class and ends at the stated time when you registered.  If you wish to make additional arrangements to continue working on projects, please see our sit and sew times.

REFUND POLICY and MAKE-UPs

Payment in full is required to hold a space. Spaces are not guaranteed without payment.  Please do not come to class if you are feeling ill.  A credit for future classes will be given if you are sick.  TrishTacSew reserves the right to cancels a class due to health reasons, low enrollment, or teacher emergency.  If a class is cancelled, students will be notified by email and/or telephone, and a full refund will be made.
