Adult - Sewing Basics: Simple Techniques and Projects for First-Time Sewers - Evening Class

If you've never threaded a needle or touched a sewing machine before, learning to sew may seem daunting...but it doesn't have to be!

Trish will provide all the supplies and materials needed to help ease you into a creative new hobby using Choly Knight's friendly and easy-to-follow book and projects.  No need to bring anything except yourself and an attitude ready for fun and new skills.

Class meets for 6 weeks.

 - First week: Introduction to the Sewing Tools, Fabric and Sewing Machine 

 - Second Week: Practice Sewing, What is a Seam Allowance, Trouble Shooting, Following a pattern, Cutting fabric, Hand-sewing Ladder Stitch
Project:  Begin the Bellflower Pincushion

 - Third Week: Finish Bellflower Pincushion, Applique, working with stablizers
Project:  Sweetly Scented Sachet

 - Fourth Week: Finish Sweetly Scented Sachet

 - Fifth Week: Sewing Curve, Applique Practice, Ladder Stitch, 
Projects: Marvelous Mr. Cat

 - Sixth Week: Finish Marvelous Mr. Cat.

CLASS TIMES:
I understand that doors open 10 minutes before class and end at the stated time when you registered. Please be respectful of the start time and only arrive 10 minutes prior to start time.  Sometimes there are classes beforehand or Trish and/or the instructor needs prep time. If you wish to make additional arrangements to continue working on projects once class ends at the stated time, please work out a time in advance with Trish.

DISCOUNTS: 
I understand that once registered for a class, I am entitled to a 10% discount toward the required supplies for that class.  The discount is only valid BEFORE class and not afterward.

REFUND POLICY and MAKE-UPS:
Payment in full is required to hold a space. Spaces are not guaranteed without payment.  All classes purchased from TrishTacSew are non-refundable unless otherwise specified in writing. If you cannot make it to class, please let us know at least 4 (four) days in advance of date of class to receive store/class credit. A credit will be given and can be applied to a future class. PLEASE do not come to class if you are feeling ill. There are no re-funds for no-shows.  TrishTacSew reserves the right to cancels a class due to health reasons, low enrollment, or teacher emergency.  If a class is cancelled, students will be notified by email and/or telephone, and a class may be rescheduled, or a full refund will be made. There is not an option for individual make-up classes with group classes.
