Beginner Quilting II -Advanced Learn to Quilt Program

This class will give you a little more of a challenge than a beginner’s class! The goal of this class is to build your piecing and cutting skills and introduce new techniques. It is suitable for anyone who has completed the Beginning Quilting I class or is comfortable with a rotary cutter and a ¼” seam. 

We meet for 2 hours per week for 5 weeks.

The techniques in this class are designed to be more challenging and is  You will be introduced to the following: 

• Flying Geese 

• Quarter-square triangles 

• Square in a square 

• Curved piecing 

• Setting blocks on point 

• Sashing 

• Cornerstones 

• Mitered borders 

Supply List  - These are items you must bring to class

Supply List 

• Rotary cutting supplies –  cutter, 6” x 12” and 6” x 24” ruler, 12 ½” or larger square ruler 

• Sewing machine with ¼” foot; wind three or four bobbins before class 

• Basic sewing kit – thread, seam ripper, pins, marking pencils 

• Template plastic or 6” Drunkard’s Path templates from Come Quilt With Me 

Fabric Requirements 

• Color A – blocks and outer border* –  1  2 /3 yards 

• Color B – blocks – ½ yard. 

• Background – blocks and setting triangles and corners – 1 1/8 yards 

• Sashing, Inner border and Binding – 1 ½ yards. 

• Cornerstones – 1/8 yard 

Note: cut outer border along the selvedge before cutting anything else.

CLASS TIMES:
I understand that doors open 10 minutes before class and end at the stated time when you registered. Please be respectful of the start time and only arrive 10 minutes prior to start time.  Sometimes there are classes beforehand or Trish and/or the instructor needs prep time. If you wish to make additional arrangements to continue working on projects once class ends at the stated time, please work out a time in advance with Trish.

DISCOUNTS: 
I understand that once registered for a class, I am entitled to a 10% discount toward the required supplies for that class.  The discount is only valid BEFORE class and not afterward.

REFUND POLICY and MAKE-UPS:
Payment in full is required to hold a space. Spaces are not guaranteed without payment.  All classes purchased from TrishTacSew are non-refundable unless otherwise specified in writing. If you cannot make it to class, please let us know at least 4 (four) days in advance of date of class to receive store/class credit. A credit will be given and can be applied to a future class. PLEASE do not come to class if you are feeling ill. There are no re-funds for no-shows.  TrishTacSew reserves the right to cancels a class due to health reasons, low enrollment, or teacher emergency.  If a class is cancelled, students will be notified by email and/or telephone, and a class may be rescheduled, or a full refund will be made. There is not an option for individual make-up classes with group classes.
