T- Shirt Quilt – Unique Design by Student 

Class Description

Too many t-shirts in your closet or folded in your drawers? Need a special gift for the graduate or special anniversary or milestone birthday? Make a memorable and unique quilt gift from those t-shirts.  This class will teach you how to prepare t-shirts for use in a custom quilt. You’ll learn ways to layout different shaped logos from the shirts in a way that brings the colors and fabric designs together in an interesting and unique quilt. 

Preserve those memories for that special someone. A unique project capturing one’s history in a quilt. The design is dependent upon the number of t-shirts used and the creativity of the student. The class will cover how to prepare t-shirts, or other clothing types, for sewing, along with design ideas for quilt layouts. Tips and tricks are shared to make the entire process stress free.

Skill Level
Confident Beginner

Participants should be familiar with their sewing machines, basic piecing and sewing accurate ¼” seams. 

What does class fee include? 

• Class fee covers instructor, facilities. 
• Each Student is required to have their own book.  No sharing of books or patterns is allowed.
• Project supplies need to be purchased separately BEFORE class. Please come to class prepared. 

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• Bring your t-shirts to the first class
• Sewing machine is NOT required for the first class. 
• The second class will focus on sewing the shirts together along with sashing and other design features. 
• Do NOT cut your t-shirts prior to class. You will learn the proper steps to take PRIOR to cutting them, then cut them in the first class. 

CLASS TIMES:

I understand that doors open 10 minutes before class and end at the stated time when you registered. Please be respectful of the start time and only arrive 10 minutes prior to start time.  Sometimes there are classes beforehand or Trish and/or the instructor needs prep time. If you wish to make additional arrangements to continue working on projects once class ends at the stated time, please work out a time in advance with Trish.

DISCOUNTS: 

I understand that once registered for a class, I am entitled to a 10% discount toward the required supplies for that class.  The discount is only valid BEFORE class and not afterward.

REFUND POLICY and MAKE-UPS:

Payment in full is required to hold a space. Spaces are not guaranteed without payment.  All classes purchased from TrishTacSew are non-refundable unless otherwise specified in writing. If you cannot make it to class, please let us know at least 4 (four) days in advance of date of class to receive store/class credit. A credit will be given and can be applied to a future class. PLEASE do not come to class if you are feeling ill. There are no re-funds for no-shows.  TrishTacSew reserves the right to cancels a class due to health reasons, low enrollment, or teacher emergency.  If a class is cancelled, students will be notified by email and/or telephone, and a class may be rescheduled, or a full refund will be made. There is not an option for individual make-up classes with group classes.

PARKING

Parking is available in the front and back of shop. 

BREAKS

For All-Day Classes We will take a 30-minute break mid-day to allow for lunch. You are welcome to bring a lunch or order delivery and work on your projects during that break.  We have a full refrigerator you may use.  Please leave children, pets and friends at home. If you need special accommodations, please let us know.
