Each clip has easy to read markings with clear legends in front and back of the packaging. Comes in a pack of 12 clips. 

The etched fraction markings near the base of the clip (1/4", 1/2" and 5/8") refer to the the three lines that appear at the top of the clip. The first line from the top of the clip is 1/4" and the subsequent markings are 1/2" and 5/8" from the top of the clip. You get your measurement starting from the top of the clip. The needle of the sewing machine must clear the clip by at least 1/8th of an inch. To achieve a 1/2" hem you must have a seam allowance of 5/8"(1/8" needle clearance + 1/2" of fabric fold under the clip).
